  • Original mid-20th Century oil painting on board, depicting a view of a house front on a street on the Island of Ischia in The Bay of Naples, Italy.  This original work has been created in an impasto style, with the thick application of paint using a pallet knife, by the renowned Italian artist Vincenzo Funiciello (1905-1955), and is a rare, excellent opportunity to own an original painting by this artist.

Vincenzo Funiciello was born on the Italian island of Ischia, Italy, and was discovered by the Italian landscape artist Gaetano Ricchizzi who went on to become his teacher and mentor.  He was a frequent visitor to Berlin in Germany, where he found a connection with the German Impressionism movement, and where he was also first inspired to create his collages, having seen the large amount of scraps of cloth going to waste on the floor of a local tailor's shop.
