Superb original oil painting on board, depicting a view of cricket match in an English country village, with Cow Parsley and wildflowers in front of the cricket pitch, in the foreground, and the village and its church beyond the trees in the background. This uplifting, original work is entitled 'The Village Cricket Match', and is by the quirky English artist, television presenter and broadcaster Timmy Mallett (b.1955 ).
Timmy Mallett was born in Marple, Cheshire, and studied the History of Art at Warwick University. Upon leaving university he entered the entertainment industry, working for BBC Radio Oxford, a precursor for an award-winning career in television and radio, which led to him becoming a much-loved household name. In recent years, he has rediscovered his first love for painting, and in doing so has earned himself worldwide recognition as a highly talented artist. His impressionist works reflect his travels through the UK and beyond, with scenes of sunshine, light, warmth and colour.
