Steven Smith was born in Preston, Lancashire, he studied Fine Art at Middlesborough University and then set up his own studio, becoming a successful Scenic Painter and Mural Artist. He began developing his figurative style in 2011, and studied the techniques used by both contemporaries and old masters, from European painters like Botticelli, Caravaggio and Delacroix to more recent American Artists such as Chuck Close, Ralph Goings and Richard Estes. Combining these influences he has developed a classical and photo-realistic style. He has exhibited in many successful shows, and his much sought-after work has appeared on film and television sets, in Hotels and even The National Army Museum and The Natural History Museum.
