Quirky, rare (one of only 150 ever produced) limited edition giclee print on canvas, presented in a gallery frame, depicting a polar bear reclining on top of a Volkswagen Beetle, in a beach front location, with a surf board, leaning up against the car. This quirky work is entitled 'Surfs Up', and is by the Contemporary, highly original, British artist Steve Tandy (b.1973 ).
Steve Tandy was born in Bury, North Manchester, and having only briefly studied art at Bury College, is essentially a self-taught artist. He initially worked in the insurance industry, while painting private portrait and landscape commissions in his spare time, mastering his skills to develop his own captivating style, sighting Andy Warhol, David Hockney, Salvador Dali and David Shepherd among his various influences. He now focuses solely on his art, having been scouted by a high profile gallery to showcase his latest original paintings and limited edition prints, which capture wildlife in unusual environments.
