- Extremely rare, original limited edition Artist's Proof* print on board depicting two elegantly dressed ladies studying the racecard at the Royal Ascot horse race meeting, this colourful, atmospheric work is beautifully presented in a bold gallery frame, is entitled 'Studying Form', and is by the highly acclaimed English artist Sherree Valentine-Daines (b.1956 ).Sherree Valentine-Daines was born in Effingham, Surrey, and began her professional career as a legal secretary in London, before following her love of art and studying at Epsom School of Art. Upon her graduation in 1980, she spent the summer in Cornwall, painting villages, harbours, beaches and people, and has gone on to become a globally successful artist. Her impressionist paintings are highly sought after and feature in the collections of many well known people, including members of the British Royal Family. Her work has been widely exhibited, including at The Royal Academy, The Barbican, The Royal Society of British Artists, The Royal Institute of Artists, the Tate Gallery, and many of the top London Galleries.*An artist's proof is an impression of a print taken in the printmaking process to show the current printing state of a plate while the plate is being worked. The proof is checked and approved by the artist and, although in theory it is identical to the finished work, it is not included in the final limited edition print count. Artist's proofs belong to the artist, are much more scarce and rare than a normal limited edition print, therefore more valuable, and by convention, the artist would not usually sell these at once.
