Sam Chadwick (1902-1992)
Original watercolour painting, depicting a shepherd driving sheep onto a country lane in Wensleydale, North Yorkshire, by the popular listed Yorkshire artist Sam Chadwick (1902–1992)
Sam Chadwick was born in Yorkshire, and worked as an apprentice at the printing firm Alf Cooke’s, before eventually opening his studio in Wade Lane, Leeds. His atmospheric paintings in his signature 'wet brush' watercolour style have been much in demand, and since his death in 1992, his work has been increasingly difficult to source.

- Framed, glazed and ready to hang in a gilt-trimmed moulded wooden period frame

- The frame has some minor dinks and rubbing in places, commensurate with age, otherwise both painting and frame are in excellent condition
