  • Atmospheric original acrylic painting on board, beautifully presented in a gallery frame, depicting cottages in a colourful, bright and vibrant Cumbrian, Lake District landscape.  This original work is entitled 'Two Cottages, Lake District', and is by the English artist Richard Clare (b.1964 ).

Richard Clare was born in Sheffield, Yorkshire, and initially trained as a graphic designer.  He is known for his bright and colourful depictions of Northern landscapes, as well as scenes of France and Italy, and takes much of his inspiration from his walks in the Peak District, the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District.  He is a colour blind artist wholikes to capture the spirit of a landscape rather than precisely reproducing it, and his bright and beautiful works are the result of this.  He is an award-wnning artist who spends time between his studio in England and his home in Tuscany, and has exhibited widely throughout his career, including at The Mall Galleries, London.
