Ralph Waterhouse (b.1943 )
Superb original fine-detailed gouache painting of a Wood Mouse perched on a small rock amongst grass and wildflowers. This beautifully executed, almost photorealistic, original work is by the award-winning English wildlife and landscape artist Ralph Waterhouse (b.1943 ).
Ralph Waterhouse initially worked as a graphic designer until 1973 when he moved to The Lake District and became a professional artist. International recognition followed, with features in leading magazines and on BBC TV, exhibitions in Europe and the USA, and work published by the RSPB and the WWF. In the 1980s he emigrated to the USA and began painting landscapes en plein air. He opened a gallery in Santa Barbara and was asked by the British Consul in Los Angeles to present Margaret Thatcher with one of his paintings during her visit to California. He has exhibited widely in the United States and around Europe including in the national Oil Painters of America Exhibitions, the Rain Forest Exhibition, London and at the US State Capitol Building.

- Framed, glazed, triple-mounted and ready to hang, in a bold moulded gilt frame

- Frame size 35.5cm x 31cm (approx. 14 inches x 11 1/4 inches)
- The frame has some very minor nibbles to the corners and negligible rubbing to the gilt around the edges, please see image above for an example of this, otherwise both painting and frame are in excellent condition
