- Original antique Victorian watercolour painting, depicting a view of a stream flowing through a sparse moorland, under a dramatic looking sky, by the Channel Islands-born watercolour artist Paul Jacob Naftel (1817–1891).Paul Jacob Naftel was born in Guernsey, and was a self-taught artist who was the only Guernsey-born professional painter of the 19th century. He was a prolific artist who also taught drawing at Elizabeth College on Guernsey, and came to particular prominence when he recorded Queen Victoria's visit to Guernsey in 1846, with the resulting prints published in The Illustrated London News. He moved to London in 1870, where he had a highly successful solo exhibition at the gallery of the Fine Art Society.
