Patricia Maclaurin was born in Christchurch, New Zealand, and studied art at the Canterbury School of Art, Christchurch and, upon moving to the UK, Richmond Adult College, London. She was a successful professional artist who exhibited widely, including at The Royal Academy, The Mall Galleries, The Pastel Society, The Royal Institute of Oil Painters, The Royal Society of Portrait Painters and The Society of Women Artists.- Signed lower right- Framed, glazed, double-mounted and ready to hang, in an off-white coloured moulded wooden frame- Painting size 30.5cm x 23cm (approx. 12 inches x 9 inches)- Overall frame size 49.5cm x 41.5cm (approx. 19 1/2 inches x 16 1/4 inches)
