Bright and vibrant original oil painting on canvas depicting a winter scene, with a Gamekeeper and his dogs, a Black Labrador and a Springer Spaniel, on a path in a beautiful snow-covered countryside landscape as the sun sets.  This fabulous painting is entitled 'Keeper's Return', and is by listed British artist Michael David Herring (1944-2010).

 

Michael David Herring was born just outside Watford in Hertfordshire, and was a self-taught artist who steadily built up a following for his work which enabled him to turn to painting professionally in 1985.  His paintings capture the traditional values of rural England, and, as well as being exhibited widely, have been published as limited edition prints, greetings cards, jigsaws and magazine covers, and have also been used by Danbury Mint on collector's plates and ceramics since the mid 1990s.
