Original oil painting on canvas, depicting a portrait of a woman at a beachside cafe, by the listed English artist Ken Jackson (1930-2006), this is a rare opportunity to own an original work by this well-known artist.

Peter Kenneth Cowley Jackson was born in Shipley, West Yorkshire, and studied at Shipley Art College, Leeds College of Art and The Royal College of Art, London. He was an art teacher at Haworth Secondary School, and a freelance artist painting both landscapes and portraits. In the late 1960s during the filming of ‘The Railway Children’ he gained public attention when he painted the actors, crew and locals in Haworth, from which hundreds of prints were made and sold, and, in 1979 he was commissioned to paint a portrait of the former Prime Minister, Harold Wilson, from which numerous other academic and professional association commissions followed. Today his paintings can be found in many public and private collections.
