Original fine-detailed gouache painting of a British garden birds, depicting a Yellow Wagtail perched on the broken shoot of a plant in a grassy undergrowth. This beautifully executed original work is by the highly regarded British wildlife artist John R Morris.
John R Morris was born and educated in Retford, Nottinghamshire. He worked in journalism until 1968, and then helped develop the family's light engineering company, becoming General Manager. In 1984 he decided to end his career in engineering and became a professional self-taught artist. He mainly paints birds, small mammals, and foliage, using a mixture of watercolours and gouache, and he is a sought after illustrator. He has had several sell-out exhibitions and his work features in private collections throughout the UK, Europe and the USA.
