- Large original watercolour painting, depicting a view of a residential street in Mill Hill, North London, this vivid and atmospheric work was created in 1991, and is by the award-winning watercolour artist, designer, writer and teacher John Lidzey (1935-2009), this is a rare opportunity to own an original piece by this renowned artist.John Lidzey was born in Islington, North London, and studied typographical design at the Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts, South London. He initially worked in an advertising studio, as a typographer and later a visualiser. He was employed by art studios and design groups, for a number of years, before becoming a lecturer in the late sixties, first at Camberwell School of Arts, then at Southwark College, until he turned to painting and writing full time in the late 1980s. He won a number of competitions, including at The Mall Galleries, London, and in the early 1990's he decided on a complete change of scenery and first moved near to Bungay in rural Suffolk, then to Harleston, Norfolk.
