Superb original oil painting on board depicting a view of Venice, and a bridge spanning a Venetian canal, nestled amongst the beautiful Venetian architecture. This fabulous original work is entitled 'Venice', and is by the highly regarded, late British artist Jeremy Barlow ROI (1945-2020).
Jeremy Barlow was born in Northamptonshire and studied illustration at Northampton School of Art, later working in art studios in London and the Midlands before becoming a professional artist in the early 1970's. In 1977 he moved to Germany and concentrated on painting landscapes and townscapes of Holland, Belgium, Germany, France and Italy, and his European following grew rapidly with his being exhibited in major European cities. He returned to the U.K. in 1983, and exhibited widely, including at the Royal Academy and numerous major galleries across England. He was elected a full member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters in 1994, and continued to travel extensively in Europe, creating his paintings, before his sudden passing in 2020. Today his works can be found in numerous public, private and corporate collections across the globe.- Signed lower right- Framed and ready to hang, in its original bold, gilt-trimmed, brushed off-white coloured moulded frame with white moulded slip- Painting size 24.5cm x 30cm (approx. 9 5/8 inches x 11 3/4 inches)- Overall frame size 43cm x 48.5cm (approx. 17 inches x 19 inches)
