- Large original watercolour painting, depicting a view of two cottages beside a links golf course on the coast of Scotland, this original work is by the listed Scottish artist Irvine Russell (b.1938 ).Irvine Russell was born in Paisley, the son of professional artist John Russell. He initially took up singing as a part time profession and sang regularly with Scottish Opera Chorus, but then became more interested in art through a local art club. Essentially self taught, he studied for a short period at the Glasgow School of Art, and began to paint in oils until, in due course, he graduated to watercolours, which have remained his preferred medium.. His subjects are landscapes and rural townscapes, depicting harbours and villages around Scotland, and his work features in private collections around Britain and abroad.- Signed lower right- Framed, glazed and ready to hang, in a gilt-trimmed moulded light-wooden frame- Painting size 37cm x 27cm (approx. 14 1/2 inches x 10 5/8 inches)- Frame size 56.5cm x 46.5cm (approx. 22 1/4 inches x 18 1/4 inches)- the frame has some very minor rubbing, and very minor nibbles to the apexes of the corners, otherwise both painting and frame are in excellent condition- Original gift- All paintings are carefully packaged to prevent damage during shipping- Please contact us for European and Worldwide shipping prices- If you have any questions about this item, please contact us and we will respond within an hour
