- Very large original oil on canvas painting, depicting a peaceful riverscape at dusk, with two pairs of Mallard Ducks in flight over wetlands, by the Dutch artist Gien Brouwer (b.1944 ). This is a rare opportunity to own a large work by this artist depicting one of his classic, best known, 'trademark' scene.Gien Brouwer was born in Waddinxveen, Holland, and graduated from the Academy of Art (Kunstacademie) in Rotterdam, after which he studied painting privately with Hermanus Jozef Wijngaard. He lived and worked in the Ultrecht area, where his focus for his paintings was Dutch landscapes, which he painted in oil, using a combination of realism and impressionism. He has exhibited in The Netherlands and Germany, and his paintings can be found in private collections across Europe.- Signed lower left
