  • Superb original oil on board painting, depicting two dairy cattle calves (Friesian Cows), besides a brick farm buiding river, this fine-detailed, original work was created in 1992, and is by the renowned countryside artist Edward Hersey (b.1948 ).
     
    Edward Hersey was born in Surrey, England, and went to Archbishop Tenison's Grammar School in Croydon. He initially worked in the jewellery trade before turning to art as a profession in 1982. He is a self taught artist who spent his formative years in southern England, with its varied landscape, abundant farm buildings and livestock, all of which provide the subjects of his instantly recognisable work. His meticulous attention to detail and lighting has seen him become one of the most highly sought after, foremost artists in his field, who has forged a strong and loyal national and international following. Today he lives in the heart of the West Country where he has his home, converted flint and brick barn, studio.
