This original work comes with its original sales invoice for £425, and is by the renowned listed British artist Donald Ayres (b.1936 ).

Donald Ayres was born in Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex, and upon leaving school, became an apprentice Diamond Setter, before joining the Royal Navy, where he travelled the world.  In the early 1960's following a fairly long illness, his wife placed a few of his works in a local shop where they sold and created much interest in his ability, and with his confidence growing, he moved to Cornwall and became a professional artist. He draws inspiration from the 'Old Masters', and has spent his artistic life travelling, painting and sketching the length and breadth of Great Britain. He has exhibited widely across Britain, Europe and America, and his beautifully detailed paintings feature in collections across the globe.
