Original pastel painting depicting a "Church" by the English artist Colin Halliday (b.1964 ).

Colin Halliday was born in Carlisle, Cumbria, and raised on a farm in Brackenber Moor near Appleby in the Eden Valley.  Art was his strongest subject at school, but it wasn’t until he was twenty-one that he realised he could make it a career. He enrolled in a fine art foundation course in Carlisle, and then studied at Exeter University, where he graduated with honours in 1992, afterwhich he returned to Cumbria to grow more as a painter, and then moved to London to pursue his dreams, and has since exhibited widely in both solo and group shows.
