Original abstract mixed media painting, created in 2022, entitled 'Studio and Garden 1', this original work is by the prominent Scottish journalist, broadcaster, and contemporary painter Andrew Marr (b.1959 ).Andrew Marr was born in Glasgow, Scotland, and, although best known for his career at the forefront of British political journalism, painting has been his lifelong passion. He never had formal art education, instead chosing an academic path, studying English at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, however, despite pursuing a media career, he is a dedicated, self-taught artist who continually studied art history, techniques, and theory. He focused more on his art following a major stroke in 2013, that left him partially paralysed, and used painting as a form of physical and cognitive rehabilitation.
