Alan Flood (b.1951)
Original atmospheric watercolour painting, depicting a view of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, with barges on a canal, lined with the unique Dutch canal houses. This original work has been created in an impressionistic style, and is by the exhibited English artist Alan Flood (b.1951 ).
Alan Flood was born in Blackburn, Lancashire, and studied first at The Blackburn School of Art, becoming the youngest student admitted to the foundation course there, and then at The Leeds School of Fine Art. He initially worked in advertising and, later as a freelance illustrator, before turning to painting as a full-time profession in 1990. In 1991 he had a work accepted for the National Portrait Gallery BP award in London, which led to numerous public and private commissions, as well as residencies with Leeds Health Trust and Opera North. His works spans portraits, group compositions, still life, interiors and landscapes, in a variety of media, has been exhibited widely both at home and abroad, and is held in private and public collections across the World.
